GL Accounts
The GL Accounts tab contains the records of your organization’s GL accounts. Within this tab, you can create new GL accounts, view and modify existing GL accounts, and assign GL accounts to specific users.
NOTE: Many GL accounts will be created for your organization upon go-live; before creating new GL accounts, check to see what already exists and if the existing accounts will accommodate your GL code.
To create a new GL account, click the New button. If your organization utilizes Business Units, you will receive a prompt to select the business unit to use; otherwise, it will take you to the next screen.
In the Add GL Account pane, in the GL Account tab:
Name – Enter a unique name for this GL account.
Code – Enter a unique code (identifier) for this GL account.
Segment – Select the appropriate GL segment to link this GL account to.
In the Users tab, you can select which users you’d like to have access to this new GL account. This can also be done on the User record in the Security – Users tab.
When you have finished making all the necessary changes to your new GL account, click the Save button.
